On December 9, 2015, Mr. Harley D. Deshler passed away at his house in Glen Burnie. Mr. Deshler was born on July 1, 1933 to Harley and Hilda Deshler in Baltimore City. He graduated from Southern High School in 1951. Harley honorably served our country in the Navy, between 1951 to 1955. After his service he worked for the Baltimore City Fire Department for 42 years, retiring as a Captain of Engine 2. Mr. Deshler loved working in his garden, taking photos, doing genealogical research, but most of all, vacationing with his grandchildren.
Harley is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Deshler. He is also survived by his children, David W. Deshler, Shawn Howser and her husband Scott, and Shane Poteet, his grandchildren; Julia Howser, Scotty Howser, Katelynne Poteet, Moose Poteet, and Angelina Poteet, his great grandchildren, Peyton and Piper, and his brother Melvin Deshler and his wife Patricia. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Serene Deshler and their daughter, Denise Deshler.
