Harry Frederick Carpenter, Jr., 87, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away on August 6, 2021. Harry was born in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania, on October 23, 1933, to the late Edna and Harry Carpenter, Sr. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps and went on to work at ACME, Gosman’s Food Land, Food Fair, and Safeway as a produce manager. He was a member of the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling, dancing, baseball, horseshoes, crabbing, and watching football.
Harry is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Pearl E. Carpenter; his loving sons, Harry F. Carpenter III, Donald A. Carpenter, and David J. Carpenter; his cherished grandchildren, Harry F. Carpenter IV, Christopher M. Carpenter, Daniel A. Carpenter, Brooke N. Carpenter, and Jonathan A. Carpenter; and his beloved great-granddaughter, Addison A. Carpenter-Johnson. Harry was predeceased by his grandson, James A. Carpenter, and his siblings, Lois, Archer, Patricia, and Shirley along with his Aunt Doris.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services in Glen Burnie on Monday, Aug. 9th, from 2-4 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held prior at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harry’s name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
