Hazel Gartside

On July 27, 2009, Hazel Marie Gartside (nee Canfield), a resident of Severn for 25 years, lost her battle with cancer after two years. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Thomas E. Gartside. Hazel was born in Grayling, Michigan to the late John and Hyacinth Canfield; she was one of 13 children, which two of them predeceased her. Hazel worked for Westinghouse as a Secretary for many years. She was president of Ladies of the Elks in Severna Park for three years. She also belonged to the Red Hatters and Jazzercise exercise group. Some of her hobbies included bowling, her two dogs, and being active in the Magothy Chelsea Seniors Group.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, 1PM, at Magothy Chelsea Lutheran Church in Pasadena.
