On April 19, 2013 Howard "Snowflake" Smallwood, 68, a resident of Glen Burnie for 55 years, passed away at Gilchrist Hospice. He was born in Baltimore, MD on June 24, 1944 to the late Mildred and Wilson J. Smallwood, Sr. He attended Glen Burnie High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served from 1961-1965 and received the Sharpshooters Badge, and Navy and Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal. Howard retired from the Federal Government after 17 years of service. He enjoyed crabbing, and sports, especially football. He is survived by two children, Howard Smallwood, Jr. and Danielle Jackson; three grandchildren, Cameron, Shelby and Julianna; three brothers, Wilson J. Smallwood, Jr. and wife Kathy, Gary Smallwood, Sr. and wife Candy, and Donald R. Smallwood, Sr. and wife Jeanne; and many nieces and nephews.
