On Monday, January 2, 2023, Irma Mary Alfinito of Brooklyn Park, MD passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Irma was born on December 26, 1937 in Baltimore to the late Harry and Josephine Purdy. She is the loving mother of Michael C. Alfinito, Sr.; Sue M. Mangum and her husband, Patrick, and Michele A. Legambi and her husband, Peter. Devoted grandmother of Vincent Legambi (Jessica), Tony Legambi (Jenna), Patrick Mangum (Patricia), Michael Alfinito, Jr. and Dominic Alfinito. Great-grandmother of Nico Legambi, Luca Legambi and Liliana Rose Legambi; sister of Frances Bridickas and Anna Cowan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Alfinito was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerome Alfinito; her siblings, Louis Purdy, Henrietta Harrison, Audrey Iner and Josephine Anderson; her grandchildren; Timothy Mangum and 3 special angels.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 Second Avenue, SW, (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Wednesday, January 11th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 13th at 1:30 pm. Inurnment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are to be made in Irma’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , Memphis, TN.
