Mr. Ivey Thomas (Ragner) Ragland was born on January 16, 1925 in Person County, North Carolina to the late Joseph and Bevone Ragner. He departed this life on Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He was the last surviving sibling. His passing was sudden and he is missed.
Ivey attended Person County Schools and was a pharmaceutical delivery driver for Meridian Health Care Services until he retired. He moved to Baltimore in the 1940s. Mr. Ragland served in the United States Army during the Korean War and he was honorably discharged after faithful service to his country.
He accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age and was Senior Usher at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Baltimore. He joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in 1955 and remained a member until his passing.
He leaves to celebrate his life a blended family of members that includes his step-children, Betty Faulcon, Eva West, Alice Fitzgerald, Zelda Watkins, Valarie Watkins, Sonia Watkins, Leonia-Linda Watkins, Yvonne Gaines, Lonnie Watkins, and Melton Watkins. He has grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren that continue to cherish his memory to include Anita Dixon, Tangela Torain Myers, Clarissa Redd, Theresa Fitzgerald, Sylvia Fitzgerald, Adrian Watkins, William Hogan, Crystal Myers, Chris Torain, Crystian Myers-Broadway, and Mason Phelps. Mr. Ragland also leaves a special niece (Shirley R. Moore) and 3 special nephews (Riley B., Jr., Michael (Mickey) R. and Danny Lee Walters) and great nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
