On, December 29, 2017, James Stewart Adams, 73, of Ferndale, passed away at his home. James was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Jessie and Fred Adams. He served the Ferndale community for 57 years as a member of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company - he was Chief from 1972 to 1976 and President for 22 years. He worked as a computer systems specialist with the National Security Agency for 35 years.
James is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Gloria Norwood Adams; his beloved children, Monica Adams Dailey and her fiancé Tim Margenthaler, and Michael Adams and his wife Brianne; his cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Askew, Tyler and Taylor Dailey, Seth Adams, and Brady Adams; his dear great-grandchild, Donald Chaney, III; and his loving sister, Jeanne Barkley and her husband Earl.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Thursday, January 4th, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 5th, at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Loudon Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James' name may be made to the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company, at www.fvfc34.org.
