Janet King

On March 30, 2007, Janet M. King (nee Snyder) passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife for 39 years to the late James R. King Sr.; Loving mother of James R. King Jr. and Janine M. Thomas and her husband Matt; Caring sister of James Snyder and the late Joann Hoover and Jack Snyder; Adoring grandmother of Madison J. and Jenna M. Thomas. She was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Josephine Snyder. Born in Pennsylvania, Janet was a resident of Glen Burnie for 26 years. She graduated from the Maryland Banking School. Janet was the Vice-President of the Bank of Glen Burnie where she worked for 15 years; and most recently was the Vice-President of County National Bank where she worked for the past 10 years. Janet was the treasurer of the Glen Burnie Boys Baseball and Softball and also the treasurer of the Lions Club. She was the treasurer and charter member of the 100 Club of Anne Arundel County and was also a member of the Town Center Advisory Committee. Janet volunteered at the Glen Burnie Carnival for over 20 years and also actively participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. Janet enjoyed crafts and bowling, but she especially loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She was a beloved woman who touched many lives and will be sorely missed.
