On January 31, 2006, Jean Diehl Crossman passed away at the age of 74. Beloved wife of Dale E. Crossman for almost 53 years; Devoted mother of Vicki L. Matulevich, Bruce E. Crossman, Brian F. Crossman, Valeri A. Haywood and Brett R. Crossman; Loving grandmother of 12.
Jean attended the Vogue Art School of Design in Chicago and also the Virginia Commonwealth University. She volunteered at the Chesapeake Center for the Arts, the North County Library and was a member of the Jaycee-ettes. She received a lifetime achievement award for her participation in the P.T.A. of Maryland. Jean was responsible for creating a library for the Point Pleasant Elementary School. She was an avid student of history and art and continued to take college classes in both. She enjoyed athletics, especially baseball. Jean had an extreme devotion to family and was an exceptional mother and grandmother. She will be missed by so many. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on February 18 at 2 PM at the Indian Creek School in Crownsville.
