Jean Dewitt

DeWITT, JEAN H. (nee Ballam), of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away Wednesday, November 30th. Born February 22, 1940 in Mt. Lena, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Beulah and Oliver Ballam, Sr. She graduated from Catonsville Community College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and worked as a nurse at the Spring Grove State Hospital in Catonsville. She was an active member of Glen Burnie United Methodist Church and in the Women's Circle at the church. Jean enjoyed reading romance novels, watching her favorite television shows, crocheting, knitting, and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. DeWitt Jr., and her brothers, Oliver Jr. and Samuel Ballam. Jean is survived by her beloved children, Linda D. Shubert, Patricia L. DeWitt, and April S. Zaletel; her cherished grandchildren, Ian and Ryan Jewett, Megan Pumphrey, and Timothy and Laura Zaletel; and her dear sblings, Merle Ballam, Joan Heger, and Margaret Horner.
