Joan Beecher, 72, went to dance with abandon on the streets of Heaven on June 18, 2024. Though she spent the majority of her life in Glen Burnie, MD right outside of Baltimore, Joan spent her final months of retired life residing in Bridgeville, DE. Joan was the loving wife of husband, Richard Beecher Sr., and an adoring and proud mother of her son, Richard Beecher, Jr. Joan loved spending quality time with her granddaughters, Elle (7), Rose (5), and Zora (3).
Joan lived a life of compassion and selflessness and gave all that someone could possibly give to those around her. She always knew how to make everyone laugh. She danced a lot, sang a lot, and kept life playful and fun. In her time on Earth, she worked as an electrician, and a longtime caretaker for the elderly in the Glen Burnie area. She was truly a woman of all trades and always demonstrated hard work. Her patience and tenderness in caring for others made her an angel before ascending to Heaven. Joan was a woman of faith and a dedicated volunteer at her church, Christ the King Catholic Church.
Joan is survived by her beloved husband, Richard; devoted son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kristen Beecher; loving brother and sister-in-law, John and Gayle Bartholomew; her three cherished granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews who love her dearly and always felt her love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and Walter Bartholomew; and brothers, Mike and Paul Bartholomew. While our hearts mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is resting in peace and watching over us.
