Joan Carpenter

Joan Carole Carpenter, 76, of Dayton, MD, formerly of Harmans, MD, passed away on August 21, 2015. Joan was born on May 7, 1939 in Baltimore. She attended Milford Mill High School and was a member of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church, Downs Park Quilters and Eternal Quilter Guild. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, cross stitch, quilting and spending time with her family.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Howard C. and Betty Counselman; her sister, Barbara A. Shanefelter and her brother, Ronald G. Counselman.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, T. Bruce Carpenter; her two children, Fred L. Parsons, Jr. and his wife, Cindy; and Kevin W. Carpenter; her sister Patricia L. Bond; and brother, Richard W. Counselman and his wife, Julie. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
