HITTEL, Joan Theresa, 81, of Severna Park, passed away on February 22, 2014. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 5, 1933 to the late Helen and Peter Feimer. Joan was a bookkeeper for several small companies and she was active in Broadneck EP church. During the 1970's, she was active in the Severna Park High School Band Boosters and served some terms as treasurer. She also co-chaired the first annual Severna Park Tournament of Bands with her husband. Joan was very creative and artistic. She belonged to a knitting group where they worked on various craft projects. She took painting lessons and painted landscapes and also, loved to capture family and travel memories via her photography.
In addition to Joan's parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Martin Frank Hittel and her sister, Mary Jane Brockway. Joan is survived by her beloved children, Deborah Cummings (Doyle "Skip") and Susan Lepley (Paul); her loving grandchildren, Steven Cummings (Melissa) and Beth Norman (Chris); her cherished great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Asher, and Evangeline Cummings, and Landon and Lydia Grace Norman; her dear siblings, Robert Feimer, Julia Ann Morgan, Peter Feimer, Pam Bramble, and Lois Ichniowski.
