Joanna F. Martlock, 84 of Glen Burnie passed away on November 7, 2022. Joanna was born on September 21, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Harry and Hazel Shayer. She was retired from Northrop Grumman’s Security Department and later worked as a Crossing Guard, and was also a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. She was very active in her beloved church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie, where she sang in the choir, worked with Stephen Ministries and the senior groups, always lending a hand where ever she was needed. Joanna enjoyed swimming, reading, traveling, drawing and painting, she had a love for the outdoors and animals. She was very creative and imaginative, and enjoyed writing for her family.
Joanna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Gary Martlock; her siblings, Saundra Nowak and Larry Shayer. She is survived by her three daughters, Terri Stinchcomb (David), Faith Young (Buster) and Heidi Price; her grandchildren, Michele, Eric, Xavier, Beau, Kayla and Jordan; her great-grandchildren, Harper and Xander; and her sister, Jacqueline Keys.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Friday, Nov. 11th from 3-6 PM. A Funeral Service will follow at 6 PM in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Missions, 308 Oak Manor Dr., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
