On Friday, October 6, 2023, John “Scott” Cook, 61, of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away at Baltimore-Washington Medical Center. He was born in Baltimore, on June 22, 1962, to the late Thelma and Morton “Cookie” Cook. Scott was the King of Bingo! He started working bingo in the mid-1980’s, then ran bingo at Bingo World, bingo at the Steel Workers Hall in Dundalk, and operated his own bingo hall, Friendship Bingo in Dundalk.
Scott is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Lisa Cook; his son, David Cook; his two grandchildren, David and Sarah Cook; his two sisters, Kim Blakley and Kelly Cook; his nieces and nephews, Heather Blakley, Katie Blakley, Demari Blakley, Amaiyah Blakley, Ky’mani Blakley, Braylon Blakley, Edward Williams, Christina Williams, Maria Williams, Niyah Williams, Rose’ Williams and Nikko Williams.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, October 16th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
