John F. Harmon, 68, of Crownsville, passed away, Monday, August 28, 2017. He was born on December 4, 1948, to Frances and Ewell Harmon, Sr. in Baltimore. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his loving wife, Yoko; and his only son and best friend, Johnny Jr.
He is survived by his step-son, Ralph Martin Jr. and step-daughter, Lenora Matters (Rick); his brothers and sisters, Ewell Harmon Jr. (Patricia), Michael Harmon, Kathy Harmon-Burkhead (Ken), Christine Harmon-Nichols (Dan), Chucky Harmon (Yvonne), and William Harmon (DeAnn); and many loving relatives and friends.
John served in the Army during the Vietnam War along with his brother, Michael. Upon leaving, he was stationed in Japan, where he met Yoko, (the love of his life), and her two young children. A few months later, Yoko and her children joined John in the United States and they were married.
John worked for the B&O Railroad, which become the Chessie System, and worked for over 30 years.
