On April 26, 2018, John "Jack" G. Westcott, 94, of Glen Burnie. passed away at Spring Abor Assisted Living. John was born on July 20, 1923, in Baltimore to the late Anna Mae (Banning) and John Westcott. He graduated from Easton High School in 1940. John served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946 as a Lineman and was stationed in New Guinea. He retired from the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in 1986, after working for 44 years.
John was a member of Elks Lodge #2266 and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, pinochle, family and friends.
John was predeceased by his dear wife, Patricia Ruth, sisters Eileen Camper, Francis Mae Bent and Lisa Ceiling. John is survived by his children, Sheila R. Savannah, Sandra M. Donohue, and John C. Westcott. He was father-in-law to Mark E. Donohue, Diana Westcott, and Thomas P. Savannah, and loving grandfather to Nicole Rehm, Evan Donohue, Albert Burgoyne, and Timothy Savannah. He was brother to Gregory Westcott, Shirley Knutsen, and Joan Skleres, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Tuesday, May 1st, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd, at 10 AM at in the funeral home chapel. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. Donations in memory of John can be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, Md. 21122 or at a charity of your choice.
