John Jackson

July 22, 1947 — November 28, 2015

John "JR" Russell Jackson, 68, was born on July 22, 1947 Saginaw. Our beloved John passed away on November 28, after a lengthy illness. John was a Vietnam Veteran, who proudly served his country and supported the Wounded Warrior Project. He served in the Army for eight and half years, as a Counter Intelligence Specialist. He exemplified a true Patriot. Following the Army, he worked for the Department of Defense. His career led him to Northrop Grumman where he was a dedicated employee for 26 years until retirement. He loved his work and he loved people; he never met a person he could not talk to. His quick wit always put a smile on everyone's face. He had a joke for everyone and always went out of his way to say hello and take time for people. He was one of those people that made other people feel good. He had a passion for horse racing, the lottery, the Baltimore Ravens, the Baltimore Orioles, the Detroit Tigers and was an avid, life long fan of Elvis Presley.

He was a loving, caring and humorous husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, of eighteen years, Debbie. His sons John Jackson, Jr. and his partner Tim Pirochta; Christopher Jackson, his wife Kellie and their children Jayde-Rhiannon and Brady Copp; Keith Jackson, his wife Vagnola and their son, Tanner; Jeremy Reed, his wife Laura and their sons Jack and Brett. He is also survived by four brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by one brother and his parents.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
