John Edward Laster. Jr.

John Edward Laster, Jr., aged 76, departed from this world on July 27, 2024, at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

John Edward Laster Jr. of Pasadena, MD was brought into this world by his late parents, Ruth and John Laster, Sr.  A brave patriot at heart, he honorably served his country in the United States Army, rising to the rank of SP4, transitioning to a fulfilling career as a manager at Toyota.  Among his passions were indulging in classic Western films and nurturing his garden with care and dedication.

John's presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by many. He is survived by his cherished stepson, Larry A. Norton Sr. and his wife Cheryl, his beloved grandsons, Larry A. Norton Jr., and Michael A. Norton and his wife Jamie; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a circle of loving friends who held him dear to their hearts.

In the tapestry of life woven by John, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife Mary Elizabeth Norton Laster; his loving stepson John S. Norton, Jr.; and his dear siblings Charles Laster Sr., David Laster, Ernest "Wayne" Laster, Doris Brown, and Linda Laster.

To honor and pay final respects to John's life well-lived, family and friends are called to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services P.A., located at 1 2nd Avenue S.W. (at Crain Highway) in Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Friday, August 2nd from 12:30 - 1 pm.  This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Graveside Service at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
