John Anthony Merlo

      On Monday, March 10, 2025, John Anthony Merlo (76) of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully at his residence. John was born to the late Anthony L. and Glenna J. Merlo on April 10, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. When he returned to Maryland, he worked at the Motor Vehicle Administration where he met the love of his life, the late Patricia Merlo.

     He was passionate about fishing and was a member of the Bass Master’s Fishing Club for many years. He was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan spending hours watching and talking about their games and scores.

     He had a wicked sense of humor and a great love for his family, cousins and friends. His family includes: sister, Gayle Scott and her husband, Reese; nephew, Reese Scott, Jr. and his wife, Theresa and their children, Leah and Huxley; nephew, Sean Scott, Sr. and Sean, Jr; his brother, Kevin Merlo and his wife, Joene; nephews, Kyle, Tyler and Gregory; nieces, Emma, Kathry and Nicole. He will also be missed by his extended family, sister-in-law, Beth McNabb and brother-in-law, Brian McNabb, also many cousins throughout the country including the Merlo’s, Dalby’s, Cancelarich’s, McCollum’s and Ballew’s families.

     In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity, church, club or sports group in John’s name. His services and inurnment will be held at a later date privately.
