John Naumann III, 48, of Ellicott City, Md., passed away on February 14, 2024. Also known as Johnny, Big Papa, ‘Doctor’, the Honorable, the Reverand, J-boog, Papa Paderch, 'Father' (with a British accent), Johnarito, Johnathon, but his favorite title was husband and dad. John also lived in Pasadena, Md.
He was predeceased in death by his Grandmother, Shirley Naumann and his Grandfather, John Nauman Sr. He is survived by his wife, Layla Naumann; his daughters, Alex Naumann, Eve San Martin and Halle San Martin; his mother, June Peterson; father, John Naumann Jr.; his brother, Eric Lewis and sister, Crystal Howard.
Johnny spent his life devoted to his family and his ‘girls’. He loved his Baltimore Birds equally, splitting his time between the Ravens and the Orioles. Throughout his life, he spent countless hours perfecting the game of pool, it was one of his favorite pastimes. Handy with his hands, he enjoyed DIY at home and building his wife’s decor designs, including his custom pool-inspired ‘man cave’. He also loved playing Galica and all 80’s related arcade games. He enjoyed bringing people together and making you laugh; he was an expert in building community. His generous and caring nature coupled with his unique (sometimes dark) sense of humor, naturally drew people towards him. A man with a lot of wise words, Johnny believed in a ‘life well lived” and demonstrated that through his approach to the constant love he showed to the people he cared about, how he traveled, and the thoughtful and insightful way he picked out the perfect card for every situation.
No formal funeral services are planned at this time. An informal gathering for his birthday is planned for Saturday, March 2nd starting at 4pm at Alibi’s Bar and Grill, 7935 Elizabeth Rd. Pasadena, MD 21122. Please feel free to wear your favorite Baltimore Bird apparel, Ravens or Orioles.
