John Overstreet Jr

John passed away at his home on January 2, 2015. Born on October 5, 1926, in Illinois, he lived in Severn for 34 years and most recently in Glen Burnie. John retired from the United States Coast Guard and the Postal Service after many years of service. He was active in the community in the 4-H Club for 30 years and also ran the Farm & Garden Department at the Anne Arundel County Fair for 35 years. His true passion was cycling and bicycle safety. In his honor, John had a portion of the BWI trail, the connection trail, named after him during a ceremony held by the Maryland Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Anna Overstreet.
John is survived by one daughter, Rowina Overstreet and six sons, John Overstreet III, Thomas, Timothy, Daniel, Robert & Richard; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
