John Ransone

On July 7, 2008, John Alvin Ransone passed on. John is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Marie Ransone; his loving children, Rebecca McKenzie and John A. Ransone, II; his dear brother, Gordon Ransone, Jr.; and his cherished grandchildren, Jacque McKenzie and Kelsey McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Margaret Ransone; and his sister Harriet Bell Sonith. John was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1942. He graduated from J. Sargent Reynolds College with a degree in Engineering. He served in the United States Marines Corp. from which he received an Honorable Discharge under medical conditions. He was later an employee with CSX transportation for 33 years. John was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed many hobbies in life including Model Railroading. He also loved scouting and travelling. He was a man who dearly loved his family. John was a good man who will be missed by many.
