John Richards

JOHN CALVIN RICHARDS, 87, of Severna Park, passed away at his home on August 18, 2012. John was born in Baltimore on July 6, 1925 to Margaret and Vernon Richards. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII and then was a police officer for Anne Arundel County for 31 years. John was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, taking long Sunday drives, setting up elaborate train gardens, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his cherished wife of 65 years, Emma L. Richards; his sons, John C. Richards Jr. and his wife Kathleen, and Roland H. Richards and his wife Katherine; his grandchildren Jeffrey Richards, Marianne Richards, and Christopher Goddard; his siblings, Lynne, Howard, & Robert Kline and Helen Pittman. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Doris Hart and Norma Dean.
