John Stracke

John Gregory Stracke, 83, of Ferndale passed away on June 4, 2012. John was born in 1929 in Baltimore, MD. He worked as a Printer for the Lord Baltimore Press for 27 years, and then worked at Wolk Press from where he retired. John served in the US Army. He was a devout parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where he served as a eucharistic minister for many years. He was a member of the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge #1456, American Legion Post #195 in Baltimore Highlands, and the Stoney Creek Democratic Club. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed dancing, traveling, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and playing cards with his family. John was always known to be a friendly and helpful neighbor. He was the devoted husband of 50 years to the late Hermina J. Stracke; beloved father of Darlene Kavanaugh (Dave Pacel); Denise Roeder and husband Jay, and Jeanne Baxter and husband Bobby; cherished grandfather of Brooke Baxter and Brady Baxter; dear brother of Barbara Dicus, Mary Ellen Kelley, Anthony, Albert, James V. and Thomas Stracke; and the loving companion of Fran Marchiano. He was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Debbie Jo Stracke; parents, Mary and Joseph Stracke; brothers, Joseph and Frank Stracke; and son-in-law, James Kavanaugh.
