John Stumpf

January 10, 1925 — December 9, 2007

On Sunday, December 9, 2007, John Joseph "Hank" Stumpf passed away at his home in Grasonville, Maryland. He is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, Dorothy M. Stumpf. Hank is also survived by his loving children, Dolores Strausser, Patricia Boseker, Joanne Gunther, and Paul Stumpf as well as his eight beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Hank is the brother of Catherine Stumpf and the late James Stumpf and Agnes Lorenz. He was also predeceased by his son Russell Stumpf.
Hank was born in Baltimore to Estelle and John Stumpf. He was a Radioman Third Class in the United States Navy from 1943-1946 and was then worked for the International Longshoreman's Association Local 953 for 42 years. Hank was a member of the VFW Post 7464, the Moose Lodge 1696, and the American Legion Post 296, all in Grasonville. He loved reading, fishing, boating, sports (especially ice hockey), yard work, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren.
