On July 10, 2016, John Sumner Taby "Jack", 82, passed away at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center. He was born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, on May 12, 1934, to the late Ethel and Elmer Taby. John served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and went on to work at Bethlehem Steel for 41 years as an accountant. He was a member of The Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge 213, The Elks, The Moose, The American Legion, and The VFW. John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and crabbing.
John is survived by his devoted wife Elizabeth A. Taby; his loving sons, Chuck Taby and his significant other Bridget Ferst, and Butch Taby and his fiancé Rose Mary Holden; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Erika, Beth, and Lisa; his beloved great-grandchildren, Braidyn, Brooke, Raymond, Gabriella, and Alex; and his dear sister, Carol Severra and her husband John.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie, on Sunday, July 17th, from 2-4 and 7-9. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 18th, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
