John Wayson, Jr., passed away April 28, 2022, at the age of 89. He was a lifelong resident of Linthicum Heights. John was born on August 5, 1932 in Linthicum to the late John Wayson, Sr., and Emma Wayson (Keilholtz). He is survived by his son, John Emanuel Wayson; his daughters, Brenda Ellen Siebert and her late husband George; and Carolyn Ann Hose and her husband Randall; his son Warren Bradley Wayson (deceased), his grandchildren, Eric Wayson, Amy Wayson Baber, Lena Wayson, Jade Wayson, Melissa Siebert, Jonathan Siebert, Melanie Geesaman, Brian Hose, Jennifer Guttenberg, Emily Wayson, Jessica Wayson, Benjamin Wayson and 6 great-grandchildren.
John served the Linthicum community for many years as a well respected mechanic and owner of J. Wayson’s Esso (also Exxon and Citgo) service station. He also served in the Coast Guard reserves at Ellis Island, NYC in his younger years. John was also a past president of the Optimist Club in Linthicum. Throughout his life, John enjoyed many pursuits such as fishing and boating, hunting, wood working and watching Ravens football and Orioles baseball games, but, most of all, spending time with his family.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave., SW (at Crain Hwy) on Saturday May 7th, from 11 AM – 1 PM. A Celebration of Life services will immediately follow at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment following at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
