John “Tommy” Yox, 61, of Glen Burnie passed away on January 12, 2019 at his residence.
Tommy was born the 3rd of three children to the late Joseph William Yox and Waltraud “Trudy” (Schinzel) Yox in Richmond, Virginia. At age 11 his family moved to Maryland he grew up in Owings Mills and graduated from Pikesville High School in 1975. Tommy always enjoyed playing sports from little league to adulthood softball teams. Tommy was a Carpenter and his attention to detail and meticulous eye made him perfect for the trade. He loved wood working and created many unique and special pieces that his family will cherish for years to come. Tommy also enjoyed boating, and hunting. He will be remembered by his family for always being there when someone was in need.
He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Rose Marie Frommelt; special companion his dog, Brandy. He is survived by his mother, Waltraud “Trudy” Yox; sister, Patricia Mrozek (Valentine); nieces and nephews, Jimmy Tryon, Jr. (Diane), Melissa Taylor (Scott), Chrissy Worsley (Dustin), Nicole Kuykendall (Josh), Jennifer Mitchell (Gary), and Jackie Boschert (Thomas); numerous great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 5-7 A Service will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
