Joseph Goggin

On February 26, 2016, Joseph Thomas Goggin, 80, passed away. He was born in West Philadelphia, PA, on September 22, 1935, to the late Rita and Joseph Goggin. Joseph earned his Master's Degree in Theology from St. Mary's Seminary and his Undergraduate Degree in Political Science from University of MD. He served his country proudly as a Spec-3 in the U.S. Army and continued to serve the U.S. as a cryptologist at NSA for 35 years. Joseph then went on to serve his church with the Archdiocese of Baltimore as the Director of Religious Education, and then serving local law enforcement as a Crime Analyst with A.A. Co. Police Department. Throughout his life, no matter what job he had, Joseph served the Lord through a variety of parish ministries. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, solving puzzles, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 54 years, Nancy C. Goggin; his cherished daughters, Patricia Anne Goggin, JoAnne Buccigrossi, and Clare Goggin; his beloved grandchildren, Joseph Thomas Dean, Matthew Buccigrossi, Jake Buccigrossi, and Megan Buccigrossi; and his dear siblings, Rita Flynn, Jack Goggin, and Mary Mortonson.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie, on Wednesday, March 2nd, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3rd at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7436 BandA Blvd, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joseph's name may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph, Mt. St. Joseph Convent, 9701 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19118-2694.
