Joseph Alan Laughter, 74, of Glen Burnie, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020. Joe was born on March 9, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. His family moved to Maryland and Joe attended Andover High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He met the love of his life Mary, and married her on July 27, 1968, shortly after he started a family, raising their 2 boys, Michael and Nicholas together. Joe owned his own Italian deli “Scafolos” in Glen Burnie. He then went on to work for a trucking company as a Regional Training Manager. Out of all Joe’s accomplishments, his greatest was his family. He loved to spend time with his boys and grandchildren. His home was always opened to friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Joe is predeceased by his loving wife, Mary, and survived by his sons, Michael and his wife Amy, Nicholas and his wife Christina, his grandchildren, Ethan, Alessandra, Alexis, and Joey, his mother, Antoinette, along with 1 brother and 3 sisters.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, Oct.11 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM. Funeral Service will be private. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only allowing 40 people inside the funeral home at one time and requiring masks for all visitors. We ask that you please keep your visit brief, as there may be people waiting to get into the funeral home.
