Joseph Platania

Joseph Platania, born July 7, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, passed peacefully at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD on March 3, 2021. He was married to Theresa Platania who preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Peter Platania, Susan Thomas and Laura Platania, his son-in-law Chris Thomas, grandchildren Anne Marie, Charlie and Isabella Thomas, and many beloved nieces, nephews and godchildren. Joe, an Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War, continued his service to our country for over 34 years as a government employee in Glen Burnie, MD until his retirement. He enjoyed golf, Orioles games, the beach, and his family. His contagious laugh will be greatly missed.

The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave SW (at Crain Hwy) Glen Burnie on Monday, March 8th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
