Josephine Mary Franklin, 88 years of Millersville passed away on May 12, 2022. Josephine was born on January 7, 1934 in Baltimore to the late George and Catherine Horst. She retired from Anne Arundel County Board of Education. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose, Glen Burnie United Methodist Church, a member of The Red Hat Society and volunteered at Partners In Care. Josephine enjoyed gardening, line dancing, crafts and ceramics and was a cat lover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin; her son, Larry Franklin, and her brother, Donald Horst. She is survived by her sons, Rick Franklin and his wife, Karen; and Bob Myers and his wife, Janice; her daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Franklin; her sister, Doris Bower and her husband, Dick; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, May 23rd from 10-11 AM. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made in Mrs. Franklin’s memory to the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
