Joyce Marshall

On December 1, 2017, Joyce Ann Marshall, 82, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away at her daughter's home. Joyce was born on February 3, 1935, in Hope, Minnesota, to the late Evelyn Chaney. She worked for over 30 years as a contracting officer for the Federal Government. Joyce was a devout Christian and a member of Heritage Community Church in Severn, Maryland. Joyce was a loving and dedicated mother who worked hard her entire life to provide for her children despite the many hardships that she endured throughout. She always thought of others first, rarely ever thinking of herself. She loved church, God, her granddog Buddy, and her family unconditionally. She enjoyed playing solitaire and Sudoku, reading, watching Hallmark movies, discussing the latest political news, taking scenic rides, and helping others.
Joyce was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Chaney, her step-father, Maynard Chaney, her only son, William Welsh Jr., and Bladen, her great-grandson. She is survived by her beloved children, Diane C. Smith and her husband Dennis, Sandra Hoffman, and Suzanne Mundella and her husband Tony; her loving grandchildren, Michael, Joe, Wayne, Kyle, Kaleigh, Samantha, Heather, Tony, James, and Billy; and her cherished great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 5th and 6th, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM both days. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 7th, at 12 noon at Heritage Community Church, 8146 Quartefield Road, Severn, Maryland 21144. A graveside service will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
