Joyce Parker

Joyce E. Parker, 72, a resident of Hanover, Maryland for 50 years, died January 22, 2010
in Annapolis, Maryland after a 4 month illness with cancer. Mrs. Parker was born July 8, 1937 in Huntington, West Virginia. She was a telephone operator with C&P Telephone until the early 1970's. Thereafter she and her husband started the L.C. Parker Fuel Co. where she worked as secretary/treasurer until she retired in 1998. Mrs. Parker's hobbies included listening to music and going to lunch with her brothers and sisters. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, most especially her grandchildren. She took great joy in watching her grand-children succeed. She is the beloved wife of 55 years to Leonard C. Parker, Sr.; devoted mother of Leonard Parker, Jr., Linette Miller, and the late Pamela Parker; cherished grandmother of Matthew Miller, Stephen Miller, Rachel Parker, and Sarah Parker; loving mother-in-law of Tim Miller and Alisa Parker; dear sister of Lyle, Larry, Gary, Jerry, and Terry Pennington, Patricia McNally, Gay Bennett, and Linda Nevin. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Roscoe and Nellie Pennington, brother Terry, and sister Patricia.
