Julia Hicks

January 25, 1923 — September 14, 2016

On September 14, 2016, Mrs. Julia Hicks, passed away at her home in Glen Burnie. Mrs. Hicks was born in Southern Maryland on January 25, 1923 to John and Pearl Bowie. She held numerous jobs as a waitress, bookkeeper, and Brownie Leader, but most of all a homemaker and mother to her children. Julia was very active in her church, Riverside Baptist in Baltimore, MD, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Wedding Reception Planner, Social Director, and Choir Member. Mrs. Hicks enjoyed doll making, sewing, and crafts.
Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood W. Hicks, Sr., and her son, Elwood E. Hicks, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Lee Myer, and her husband Jim Myer; her daughter in law, Susan Hicks; her grandchildren, Jodi Lynn Myer, James Steven Myer, and Bill Hicks; her great-grandchildren, Julia Martin, Rachel and Seth Pailet, Jake and Sara Myer; her great-great grandson, Devon Marshall-Flynn; her sister, Joyce Bowie McLucas and her husband Larry McLucas; her sister in law, Barbara Pitzer; and her brother in law, Larry Pitzer. Julia is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
