June Marie Raker

June Marie Raker, born on June 25, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. She was a beloved figure whose dedication to her family and professional life left a significant impact on all who knew her.

June had a fulfilling career as a secretary for the National Security Agency (NSA). Her commitment and strong work ethic were evident throughout her professional journey, and she took great pride in her work, contributing to the agency with diligence and integrity.

Outside of her career, June had a deep love for animals, particularly her cherished cats. Her playful spirit and nurturing nature were reflected in the care she provided for her pets, which brought her joy and companionship.

June’s family was her greatest treasure, and she is survived by her loving children, Sandy Wiest (Scott), and Michael Raker (Hyun). The joy in her life was amplified by her grandchildren, Wayne Wiest, Stephanie Lenig, Clayton Raker, and Madison Raker, along with her great-grandchildren, Paige Lenig, Ivan Lenig, and Gage Wiest. They all carry forward her legacy of love and warmth. June is also survived by her sister, Diane Skeberdis, who will miss their shared memories and moments. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Michael Raker, whose memory was a guiding light throughout her life.

Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA, located at 1 2nd Ave SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with the interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.

June Marie Raker will be fondly remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Through their memories, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
