Kenneth Paul Schaeffer, 72, of Severn, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Kenneth was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, to the late Betty and Paul Schaeffer. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for over 26 years, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Four. While serving in the Army, Kenneth also seized the opportunity to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. After his retirement from the Army, he further served his country for 22 years working at N.S.A. He enjoyed playing poker and yardwork, but most of all, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Sun H. Schaeffer; his beloved daughter, Jacquline Schaeffer; his cherished grandsons, Ryan and Mason Schaeffer-Sisk; and his dear siblings, Barbara, Nancy, and Dennis Schaeffer, as well as Gloria Ebling. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his sister, Brenda Schaeffer.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Wednesday, May 17th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 18th, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held at a later date with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
