Kevin Updyke, 56, a resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on June 29, 2012. He was born in Warren, Ohio on November 9, 1955 to Harry and Sondra Updyke. Kevin was employed with Verizon since August of 1983. He was a member of the Stoney Creek Hunting and Fishing Club and The West Glen Burnie Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. He enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting and going to car shows and dirt track races. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Betty of 29 years; five children, Bethanie McNeal and husband Don, Jason Updyke and wife Leanne, David Fishel and wife Tamiya, Tammy Waldo and husband Seth, and Melanie Fishel and fiancé Mark Johnson; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Tim Updyke and Dennis Updyke and wife DaRita; and one sister, Rachael Updyke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the University of Maryland Greenbaum Cancer Center at www.ummsfoundation.org.
