Laverne Hicks

Mrs. Laverne L. Hicks, 86, of Severn and previously of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2011 at Genesis ElderCare of Severna Park, surrounded by her family and friends. Laverne was born in Pennsylvania in 1924 to the late Irene and John Brown. She was a waitress at Wallace's Seafood Restaurant. Laverne belonged to the Womens Circle Group at Harundale Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, cross stitch, drawing, crossword puzzles and traveling. She was the beloved wife of 48 years of the late Charles W. Hicks; devoted mother of Charles D. Hicks, John E. Hicks and Susan E. Porter; loving grandmother of Erin, Robbie and Jamie Porter; dear sister of Edith Biscoe; cherished great-grandmother of Isabel Porter, Maddox Howard and Emma Porter; beloved aunt and second mother of Carol Fost.
