Lawrence Paul Gunshol passed away on September 13, 2014 at his home after a long illness. He was born on June 30, 1939 in Claremont, New Hampshire. Larry was raised and educated in Baltimore. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Engineering Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He retired from Computer Sciences after 40 years of service. Larry was a member of the American Aviation Historical Society, AIAA, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Engineering Club of Maryland, Knights of Columbus and was listed in Who's Who in Aviation. He was an avid historian and had many articled published in the American Aviation Journals. Before his illness, he was in the process of writing a book on World War II. Larry enjoyed reading, walking, spending time with his grandchildren, whome he loved very much, and relaxing at Deep Creek Lake.
Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Teresa (Ciotola) Gunshol; his son, Paul (Lisa) Gunshol; grandchildren, Gianna, Gabrielle, Cole and Connor; his brother, Lou (Fran) Gunshol; and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen; and his sister, Mary Lou Caldwell.
