Leonhard "Leo" Skorobatsch, 69, of Millersville, passed away on August 22, 2016, at his home. Leo was born in Rofingen, Germany, to the late Elsa and Ivan Skorobatsch. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4 and went on to earn his Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from Towson University in 1976. Leo then went on to work at Bethlehem Steel for 35 years, rising up the ranks to retire as a Chief Spectragrapher. He was involved in a band playing the keyboard and accordion. Leo loved music and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Leo is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Valentina Skorobatsch; his beloved children, Christine Westphal (Greg), Leo Skorobatsch (Chrissy), and Nick Skorobatsch (Valerie); his cherished grandchildren, Cara, Patrick, Julia, Luke, Adam, Laura, Milton, Tyler, Amberlie, and Kaylie; his loving brother, Paul Skorobatsch (Nancy); and dear brother-in-law of Lydia McGowan (Robert) and Helen Glorioso (Vince). Leo was predeceased by his brother, John Skorobatsch.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Wednesday, August 24th, from 6-8 PM and on Thursday, August 25th from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 26th, at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 300 W. Maple Road, Linthicum, MD 21090. Interment St. Andrew's Cemetery in Dundalk.
