Leroy Gardner, Sr

Lee Gardner, a resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on September 7, 2014. He was born in Baltimore on September 9, 1923 to the late Catherine and Arthur Gardner, and he grew up in N. Linthicum. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps at age 19, and during WWII, flew 50+ missions over Africa and Europe as a waist gunner in a B17. He met and married Marie V. DeCarlo from New York in 1947. Lee was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed reading about WWII, puttering around the house, and just taking care of his home and yard. He was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Severn, MD.
Lee is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie V. Gardner, and children Lee Gardner (wife Cindy Marks-Gardner), Barbara Gardner (husband Phil Baker), and Thomas Gardner (wife Sherri Gardner), 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
