Lewis Paul Ripley, 78, a lifelong resident of Crownsville, MD, died after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease on January 13, 2015. He was born in Annapolis on December 15, 1936 to Ruth Owens Ripley and Paul Wilson Ripley, both deceased. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly Volny Ripley; three children, Kim Ripley Hartt of Discanso, CA, Todd Lewis Ripley and wife Ingrid of Crownsville, MD, Troy Ripley and wife Stephanie of Yorba Linda, CA; and six grandchildren, Denise, Marlayna, Miles, Matthew, Nathan and Michael Ripley.
Lewis worked as a mechanical engineer, working on the Towed Array Sonar program with Chesapeake Instruments, Shadyside, MD, Gould, Shadyside and Martin-Marietta (Lockheed-Martin) Bay Meadow, Glen Burnie, MD, ending his career at the Sykesville facility. Lew coached Arden boys' baseball and was active in Arden Beaches Inc. He thoroughly enjoyed family, friends and seafood.
