Lillian Catherine Barber (nee Stricker), 99, of Severn, MD passed from this life on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Mandarin Inpatient Care Center (Hospice of the Chesapeake) in Harwood, MD.
Born May 28, 1913 in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph and Mary A. Stricker. She was preceded in death by her husband William Hugh Barber on June 26, 1999 and three brothers: Charles Joseph Stricker, Jr., William Ashley Stricker and Russell Bishop Stricker. Lillian retired from her job as a delicatessen manager for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P) on July 1, 1975. She was a member of the Glen Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served 15 years as Worthy Matron in Star Chapter #32. She was also a longtime member of the Annapolis Cedarettes, Forest #126 and served as president in 1982. She joined the Women of the Moose Chapter in 1973 and has been a member ever since.
She is survived by her two daughters, Betty Jean Stickell and her husband Henry N. Stickell of Woodbridge, NJ and Beverly Ann Wilhelm and her husband William R. Wilhelm of Millersville, MD; four grandchildren, William David Wilhelm, Sharon K. Cohen, Pamela A. Wilhelm and John R. Wilhelm; and three great-grandchildren, Aaron Joshua Farrare, Joli Briana Wilhelm and Jana Riley Wilhelm.
