Lola Zabetakis, 85, of Glen Burnie, passed away at her daughter’s home on May 24, 2021. She was born in Grayson, Kentucky to the late James and Eula Sullivan. She was an active member of Severn Christian Church and former member of the Friendly Thyme Herb group. She enjoyed crafts, doll making, gardening, was an avid painter and long distance runner in the Maryland Marathon. She won “Best in Show” three times at the county fair for different crafts and flower arrangements. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, George; and her siblings, Margaret Blackmon, Buck Kibby and Lynn Menix.
Lola is survived by her loving children, Carolyn Zollickoffer, George Zabetakis and his wife, Cynthia, and Daniel Zabetakis; cherished grandchildren, Adam Zabetakis and Jillian Downes and her husband, Alex; dear siblings, Betty Jo Kozee and Bob Sullivan; caring nieces and nephews, Vicki Stephens and her husband, Neil, Michael Kozee and his wife, Misty, Molly Guadarrama and her husband, Angel, Trudy Blackmon, Summer Riley and Mark Sullivan.
The family will receive visitors at Severn Christian Church, 8132 New Cut Road, Severn, on Thursday, May 27th from 12 - 2 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2 PM. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org.
