Lorene Grogan

April 21, 1921 — February 17, 2014

Lorene Grogan, 92, a longtime resident of Glen Burnie now rests in the hands of God. She left us on February 17, 2014 in Russellville, Arkansas. Lorene was born in Craigsville, WV on April 21, 1921 to the late Amanda and Jacob O'Dell. Lorene retired from Montgomery Ward in Baltimore after 26 years, ending her career in the Personnel Office. She was very active in the community. Lorene was a member of the Ferndale United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Annapolis Cedarettes (Tall Cedars of Lebanon) Forest #126, serving as their president numerous times. She was also a member of the VFW Post #160 Ladies Auxiliary, the Women of the Moose Chapter 1176, and the Order of the Eastern Star Arundel #80. She had an extremely active social life and loved spending time with family and friends. She volunteered at the Pascal Senior Center and enjoyed many activities there, including tap dancing, Tai Chi, playing bells, and taking computer and oil painting classes. She also enjoyed traveling, dancing, bowling, and playing the piano and the organ. She was a kind, caring, loving, and generous Mother, sharing her love with her family and friends. She was always there to help anyone in any way she could. She believed strongly in honesty, loyalty, justice, and hard work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Grogan of 44 years. She is survived by her four children, Gary Grogan, Gene Grogan, Donna Warner, and Diann Fugitt; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Grogan and Charlotte Grogan; one son-in-law, Ronald Fugitt. She has seven grandchildren, Richard Grogan, Christine Fugitt Hamby, Harris Warner, Jeffrey Warner, Franklin Grogan, Richard Daugherty (who has preceded her in death), and Jenny Daugherty Kaukonen and three great-grandchildren, Lily Belle Grogan, Andrew Kaukonen, and Valentine Grogan.

Memorial donations in Lorene's name may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maryland Chapter, 2219 York Road, Suite 302, Timonium, MD 21093.
