On February 4, 2023, Lorn Andrew Taylor of Severn, MD, walked into the arms of Jesus and entered his eternal home in Heaven.
Lorn was born on September 23, 1964 in Riverdale, MD, to Roy and Theo Taylor. He graduated from Meade High School in 1982, and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. He worked for the federal government for 42 years.
Lorn married the love of his life, Brenda, in 1991 and together they built their beautiful family: daughter, Katelyn (Taylor) Sprague and husband, Brent Sprague; daughter, Bethany Taylor; and son, Andrew Taylor and his wife, Kate Taylor. He was the proud Pop Pop of his grandchildren Olivia, Tyler and Sekani. Lorn is also survived by his sister, Lynn Shaw and her husband, David Shaw; and his brother, Lee Taylor.
Lorn loved God, his family, friends and his church, Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene. He spent much of his energy helping others. He had a true passion of introducing others to the love of Jesus. He organized and led 28 mission trips to Latin America, helping to build churches, sharing the Gospel and providing supplies to those in need. He was a man who showed empathy and compassion for others, never taking credit for what he did, but rather giving all the glory and praise to his Savior, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service celebrating the life of this incredible man will be held at Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, 61 Gambrills Road in Severn, on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. The family will receive visitors from 5:30 to 6:30 and after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Pointe Community Church’s Mission Fund.
