Lorraine Sullivan Roberts

November 21, 1944 - March 16, 2025

Lorraine Sullivan Roberts was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 21, 1944, as the first child of Roosevelt Sullivan, Sr & Wapel Adessa Tully. She was immediately adored and cherished by her maternal grandparents, Franklin Archibald & Cecilia Cordova Adinah Tully. Her maternal uncle Franklin, Jr. and aunties Ruby, Gloria, Olga, Gervis, and Cynthia poured into her life and social skills that gave us the confident, talented, witty, loving lady we know and adore.

Lorraine graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York. Shortly after graduating High School, she married Palmer Lee Webb Sr., while they attended the New York City College of Technology Nursing Program in Brooklyn, New York, where she obtained her Practical Nursing Degree. They were blessed with 4 children: Michael Todd, Palmer Lee Jr., Wendy Jo-Ann and Wayne Joel. During this time, Lorraine had a unique experience modeling at the World Fair for Ford Motor Company. Later, Lorraine remarried to Festus Roberts, and they had 3 children, Titilayo Adetola, Oredolapo Ade and Adewale.

Lorraine’s love for nursing prompted her to further her education to become a Registered Nurse at Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Harlem, New York. This allowed her to advance her work from The Oxford Nursing Home in Brooklyn, New York, to Medical Arts and Mount Sinai in New York, New York. Upon obtaining her Registered Nursing Degree, Lorraine, her husband and their three younger children moved to Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Lorraine continued to work as a Registered Nurse at The Medical College of Virginia and became an educator for Nursing Assistants in Ashland, Virgina. Yet, still determined to make sure her family had the best life she could provide, she moved again to Pasadena, Maryland. Lorraine’s nursing career continued at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland and Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Lorraine finally retired from Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1995 as a Head Nurse. Lorraine's nursing career covered elder care, medical-surgical, educator, mother-baby, and telemetry.

Throughout her life, Lorraine was an avid reader with an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Her home was filled with books of all genres, from classic literature to medical journals. Lorraine’s passion for reading inspired her to read God’s word, the Holy Bible, which led to her studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her devotion to Jehovah God resulted in her dedication and baptism in March 1974. Lorraine expressed her love for Jehovah God by sharing in the field ministry wherever she could. She especially spent time instilling in her children and grandchildren the importance of Jehovah God’s word. Her children fondly remember her excitement and joy in preparing for the Memorial of Jesus Christ, District Assemblies, and Circuit Conventions.

Lorraine leaves to celebrate her life, love, and legacy: husband, Festus Oriola Roberts; children Palmer Lee Webb, Jr., Wendy Jo Ann Webb, Wayne Joel Webb, Titilayo Adetola Roberts-Remy, and Oredolapo Adebola Adinah Roberts.

Grandchildren: Jean Adewale Tompihe, Zoë Maria Adenike Copeland, Chantal Ariyo Efthia Copeland, Malachi Jacob Oriola Jones, Omolayo Lorraine Jones, and Zykiera Nicole Webb; and great-grandson Conor Zakai Copeland.

She is also survived by her youngest brother, Keith Alvin Ford II.

Lorraine was preceded in passing by her sons Michael Todd Webb and Adewale Roberts, granddaughter Brandi Ara Stanbury, siblings Roosevelt Sullivan, Geraldine Livingston, and Robert Anthony Ford.

Lorraine’s multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins, many of whom she had a hand in raising, also share in cherishing her love and memories.

Lorraine’s spiritual brothers and sisters honor her love and light with gratitude and gratefulness.
