Louis Calka, Sr

On July 24, 2009, Louis J. Calka, Sr., a resident of Glen Burnie for 56 years. Beloved husband of 57 years to Margaret M. Calka; loving father of Louis J. Calka, Jr., and wife Christine; cherished grandfather of Amanda and Michelle. He is also survived by many extended relatives including his special niece, Joan Persing. He was preceded in death by five siblings. Lou was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John and Ladislawa Calka. He served in the United States Army and Air National Guard. Lou was employed by the Federal Government, and retired after 30+ years. He belonged to the Moose Lodge and American Legion. Lou did volunteer work for the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels, about 20 years each. He also loved sports, especially ice hockey, and traveling.
